What We Do

Heroes’ Voices builds confidence and community for veterans with the power of music and poetry. Veterans raise their voices together at our free workshops, build their skills with our free online guitar lessons, and find resources in their local communities through our on-line database. Launched in the San Francisco Bay Area, we are expanding throughout the USA.

Heroes’ Voices puts the transformational power of music and poetry to work for our veterans by:

  • Engaging veterans with music and poetry – in community centers, in jails, and in psychiatric wards – with our workshops.
  • Promoting and sponsoring advocacy for and research into music therapy for veterans with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Traumatic Brain Injuries.
  • Building alliances with other veterans organizations to expand the use of music and poetry in their programs.

Strategic Vision
Our support and advocacy for research on music therapy directly and positively impact thousands of lives by connecting those in need with exciting new non-pharmaceutical treatments for issues common to the veteran population. We advocate for and facilitate programming and partnerships in communities across the country.

We make it a common event for Veterans to share music together in communities across America.
