Heroes’ Voices Resumes In-Person Services

jail edited

There is a lot of exciting news to share!

As you know, the COVID crisis forced us to cancel our in-person programming with Veterans who have relied on Heroes’ Voices for years, in venues such as VA facilities in San Francisco, Menlo Park, Livermore and Yountville, at the San Francisco County Jail, and at San Quentin State Prison.

Now that the COVID crisis is beginning to come under control, Heroes’ Voices is returning to in-person programming!

Heroes’ Voices weekly singing classes for Veterans will soon be the first in-person programs to be offered at the San Francisco County Jail since the COVID shut down.

Heroes’ Voices will soon resume in-person guitar lessons every Friday at San Francisco’s Veterans War Memorial Building, and every Wednesday at the VA Clinic in San Bruno.

During the pandemic Heroes’ Voices launched an energetic series of Guitar Corps lessons on Zoom. These online classes reached far beyond San Francisco to veterans in Tennessee, Texas, Ohio, and Arizona.

Heroes’ Voices is continuing to provide Guitar Corps lessons on Zoom to Veterans, wherever they are.

I am pleased to report that Heroes’ Voices was able to continue to donate guitars to veterans across the USA during the pandemic. And we plan to donate even more guitars in the months and years to come.

We are working with several possible partners to develop new initiatives that would be appropriate for the “new normal” we are all adjusting to. Watch for announcements of exciting new programs soon!

We need your help!

As we celebrate the birthday of our nation, we ask you to join us in honoring the contributions made by our Veterans to insure freedoms we all treasure.

Your donations make it possible for us to:

  • Resume in-person classes we have been offering to Veterans for the last eight years, even in the San Francisco County Jail.
  • Put free guitars into the hands of our Guitar Corps Vets around the country.
  • Provide on-line guitar lessons to Veterans everywhere.
  • And more to come!

Our Veterans depend on us to bring music and poetry – and a crucial sense of community – into their lives. Please celebrate our nation’s 245th birthday with a gift to Heroes’ Voices.
