    Joyce Di Donato, who is perhaps the best known and most popular American opera singer in the world today, is seen here in a Heroes’ Voices tee shirt. She is joined by the fabulous singer Bill Burden and Richard Gibson, one of our great Veteran Advisors for Heroes’ Voices.

    This is what Joyce says about Heroes’ Voices;

    “There are many reasons why I’m incredibly proud to be singing with my hometown opera to open their season, but one very special reason is to share the stage with the fabulous chorus here, one of whom is a Marine who served a tour in Iraq, Richard Gibson. He is very active in a group called Heroes’ Voices, which employs music in the healing process upon their return from the front lines.

    It’s particularly poignant considering how contemporary the Lyric Opera of Kansas City’s take is on this production, which boldly brings the warring families of the “Capulets and the Montagues” into present day, giving us the chance to look at war in our current culture and what affect it has on each of us. If you’re in the neighborhood, please do NOT miss this production, and if you’re not – please consider making a donation of time, money, or intent to Heroes’ Voices.”
